SCORECARD: 2023 Devil Ball Challenge
Date: September 17, 2022. Tee times start at 8 AM.
Course: Morgan Creek Golf Course, 8791 Morgan Creek Ln, Roseville, CA 95747
Cost: $80 to ride or $70 to walk. Includes range balls. Add $20 for side action, including modified skins, closest to the pin, and long drive.
Format: This is a two-man game, but you will play your own ball throughout the round. All players play to 85% of their course handicap. Phase ONE, Holes 1-6, Better Ball: We should all be familiar with this format. Play your own ball, and the best net score for each hole will count as your team score. Phase TWO, Holes 7-12, Random Better Ball: This is the phase of the tournament where a little luck is going to play a huge part in deciding the winner from all the losers. Pre-Round you and your partner will decide who is heads and who is tails. Again, during the round, play your own ball. Post-Round, once all the scores are entered, there will be one flip of the coin. If heads falls, the Heads player gets the odd holes 7, 9 and 11. If tails falls, the Tails player gets the odd holes 7, 9, and 11. No place to hide! Diabolical!! Phase THREE, Holes 13-18, Combined Score: This is where the Devil comes to show his ugly face! AGAIN, play your own ball, and both team members net scores will count on the final stretch! In a tournament where every stroke will count, I hope you can depend on your partner to come through in the clutch. If on hole 16, you get a net 3 and your partner a net 4, then team score is 7.
Entries capped at 80 players, and entries must be a multiple of 4 so get your dues in early. Fees due no later than September 8, 2023, or whenever max players is reached, whichever is sooner. Indicate whether you're in on side action, walking or riding, and your choice of partner, if any. If you don't have a partner one will be assigned.
